Syd Sharples, MBA, LCSW

My approach is not to offer solutions, but to work with you to clarify the issues and increase understanding so that you can identify your best path. My theoretical orientation is eclectic, and grounded in psychoanalytic and integrated systems theory. In my psychotherapy practice, you can expect:
- a safe place to talk
- objective listening
- support
- respect
- direction that will facilitate the therapeutic process.
After a successful career in business spanning nearly twenty years, I received my Master's of Science in Social Work from University of Texas at Austin in 2001, and I've been developing my practice as a psychotherapist and collaborative process facilitator since 2002. In addition to my degree in Social Work, I hold a Bachelor's Degree in English from Princeton University, and a Master's in Business Administration from Stanford University.
My standard fee is $100 per hour. I do take financial circumstances into consideration and provide sliding scale fees on a case-by case basis, space permitting. Payment is due at time of service unless other arrangements have been made. I accept cash and checks. I do not currently accept insurance, but upon request will provide payment receipts that you can submit to your insurance carrier.
